The India Meteorological Department has forecast moderate rainfall for 17 districts of Tamil Nadu today, as per the afternoon bulletin.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an afternoon advisory indicating that moderate rain is likely to affect 17 districts of Tamil Nadu today. The forecast covers a broad swath of the state, with rain expected to begin in the late morning and continue into the evening.
Authorities have warned that the rainfall could lead to localized water‑logging in low‑lying areas and have urged residents to stay alert to weather updates. Farmers in the region may benefit from the moisture, which is expected to aid ongoing agricultural activities.
The IMD has recommended that commuters exercise caution on roads, especially in areas prone to flooding, and that local administrations keep drainage systems clear. Emergency services remain on standby to respond to any incidents arising from the weather.
Overall, the moderate intensity of the rain is not expected to cause major disruptions, but officials continue to monitor the situation closely and will issue further advisories if conditions change.
