MLC Vanshidhar Brajvasi lodged a police complaint in Muzaffarpur after receiving abusive and threatening messages on social media, including a demand to slap him and wear a shoe garland.
The Member of Legislative Council (MLC) from the Tirhut graduate constituency, Vanshidhar Brajvasi, reported a series of hostile posts on a social networking platform that accused him of wrongdoing and demanded that he be slapped and forced to wear a garland of shoes. The posts, which the MLC described as defamatory and threatening, prompted him to approach the police in Kajimohammadpur police station, Muzaffarpur, where a First Information Report (FIR) was formally recorded.
According to the FIR, the online messages contained explicit threats to physically assault the legislator and to humiliate him publicly. The complainant stated that the content was not only abusive but also spread false allegations against him, potentially damaging his reputation and public image.
Local law enforcement has opened an investigation into the matter, citing provisions of the Indian Penal Code that deal with criminal intimidation and defamation. The police have assured that they will trace the origin of the posts and take appropriate legal action against the perpetrators.
