Polling for Member of Legislative Council seats has begun in four Indian states, with results to be counted on 27 October.
The Election Commission has commenced polling for Member of Legislative Council (MLC) seats across four states, marking the start of a crucial phase in the legislative council elections. Voters are casting ballots in designated polling stations as per the schedule announced by the commission.
Counting of the votes is slated for 27 October, when election officials will tally the results and declare the winners for the contested council seats. The process is being monitored closely to ensure transparency and adherence to electoral guidelines.
These MLC elections are significant because the legislative councils play a role in reviewing legislation and representing regional interests within state governments. The outcomes will shape the composition of the councils ahead of upcoming legislative sessions.
