Mizoram has launched four new digital initiatives: MIWAS, e-Sanction, e-Budget, and Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). These systems aim to enhance transparency and efficiency in governance.
The state of Mizoram has introduced a suite of digital governance tools designed to streamline administrative processes. The newly launched initiatives include MIWAS (Mizoram Integrated Accounting & Web-based Application System), an e-Sanction system, an e-Budget platform, and the implementation of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
These digital platforms are expected to bring greater transparency and accountability to financial management and service delivery within the state government. The MIWAS system, in particular, aims to integrate accounting and financial management, while e-Sanction and e-Budget are set to digitize the processes of sanctioning funds and budget allocation.
The adoption of Direct Benefit Transfer is also a significant step, facilitating the direct transfer of government benefits to the intended recipients, thereby reducing leakages and improving the efficiency of welfare schemes.
