During a week-long operation, Mizoram police seized large quantities of urea, areca nuts, liquor and methamphetamine, highlighting a crackdown on illegal trade.
Mizoram police concluded a week-long enforcement drive that resulted in the seizure of urea, areca nuts, liquor and methamphetamine. The operation, coordinated by state law‑enforcement agencies, targeted suspected illegal storage and distribution networks across the state.
The authorities reported that substantial amounts of each contraband were recovered, though exact quantities were not disclosed. The items seized are commonly linked to illicit markets, with methamphetamine representing a serious narcotics concern, while urea and liquor are often diverted for unregulated sale.
Police officials said the crackdown aims to disrupt supply chains that fuel illegal trade and to deter future violations. The successful seizure underscores the state's commitment to enforcing drug and contraband laws and protecting public health and safety.
The operation also sent a clear signal to traders that law‑enforcement agencies are intensifying surveillance and will act decisively against any attempts to circumvent regulations.
