Mizoram Initiates Month-Long Drive to Verify and Update Voter Rolls

Mizoram's election authorities have begun a month‑long operation aimed at verifying the accuracy of the state's electoral rolls. The drive, announced after the completion of a recent SIR (Supplementary/Revision) exercise, will run for 30 days and cover all constituencies in the state.\n\nThe initiative is being overseen by the state election office, which has mobilised teams of officials to conduct door‑to‑door verification, collect updated demographic details, and remove duplicate or invalid entries. Voters are being asked to confirm their names, ages, addresses and any changes in their personal information.\n\nIn addition to field verification, the campaign includes a public awareness component, encouraging citizens to visit designated centers to check their registration status and submit corrections. The updated rolls are expected to be finalised before the next scheduled state elections, ensuring that the voter list reflects current residents.\n\nElection officials have stressed that an accurate roll is essential for free and fair elections, and they will monitor the progress of the drive through daily reports. The refreshed electoral list will be made available to political parties and the public once the verification phase concludes.
