The state government of Mizoram is leveraging digital tools to promote its tourism potential, aiming to reach a global audience.
Mizoram's tourism department has launched an initiative to use a suite of digital tools—including an interactive website, social‑media channels and virtual‑reality tours—to present the state's natural beauty and cultural sites to a worldwide audience.
The programme involves partnerships with technology firms to develop multilingual content, augmented‑reality experiences of heritage villages and real‑time booking integration, allowing travelers to explore attractions online before planning a visit.
Officials say the digital push is expected to raise awareness of Mizoram's hill‑scapes, tribal festivals and adventure opportunities, thereby attracting more domestic and international tourists and generating income for local communities.
The state hopes that by modernising its tourism outreach, it can preserve cultural heritage while creating new economic opportunities for residents.
