The final safety inspection of Bengaluru’s Metro green line extension between Nagasandra and Madavara has been completed, and officials expect to announce a commercial start date within a week.

The Metro Railway Safety Commissioner (CMRS) has completed the final stage inspection of the green line extension that runs from Nagasandra to Madavara in Bengaluru.

The clearance clears the way for the line to begin commercial operations, with the transport authority likely to announce the exact launch date within the next seven days.

The new stretch is expected to enhance connectivity across the city’s northern suburbs, linking residential neighborhoods with key commercial zones and easing traffic congestion on existing road networks.

Officials said all safety protocols have been met and the extension will be integrated into the existing metro network, providing commuters with a faster, reliable public‑transport option.
