The Meghalaya state administration is confirming if any of its residents are currently stuck in Nepal, officials said.

Meghalaya officials said the state government is actively checking whether any citizens from the state are presently stranded in Nepal. The verification effort was announced after reports surfaced of travel disruptions affecting residents returning from the neighboring country.
The administration is coordinating with the Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu to gather accurate information. Officials emphasized that they are in touch with Nepalese authorities to assess the situation on the ground.
As of now, no confirmed cases of Meghalaya residents being held in Nepal have been reported. The government has assured families that it will provide assistance and facilitate repatriation if any individuals are found to be stuck abroad.
The verification drive underscores the state's commitment to safeguarding the welfare of its people, especially during cross‑border travel challenges.
