Meghalaya’s Chief Minister has appealed to the central government for assistance in accelerating key aviation initiatives, aiming to boost connectivity and economic growth in the state.
The Chief Minister of Meghalaya has formally requested the Centre to fast‑track several aviation projects that are deemed critical for the state’s development.
The proposals include the construction of new airports and the expansion of existing runways, which are expected to improve air links to major cities and support tourism and trade.
By enhancing connectivity, the CM argues, Meghalaya can attract investment, create jobs, and integrate more closely with the national economy.
The central government’s support would involve approval of funding, regulatory clearance and coordination with aviation authorities to bring the projects to fruition as soon as possible.
