Chief Minister Conrad Sangma opened the Meghalayan Age pavilion at Shillong’s Ward's Lake, featuring a range of locally made products.

Shillong, Meghalaya – The state's chief minister, Conrad Sangma, officially opened the newly constructed Meghalayan Age pavilion at the historic Ward's Lake. The inauguration was attended by local officials and representatives of artisan groups.
The pavilion, designed to highlight the cultural and economic heritage of Meghalaya, houses stalls that display a variety of handcrafted items, organic produce, and traditional textiles produced by local entrepreneurs.
State officials said the venue aims to boost tourism and provide a permanent platform for small‑scale producers to reach a wider market, reinforcing the government's focus on inclusive growth.
The opening ceremony included a brief cultural program that showcased regional music and dance, underscoring the link between heritage promotion and economic development.
The pavilion will remain open to visitors throughout the year, offering both residents and tourists an opportunity to experience Meghalaya's unique crafts and flavors.
