A married woman drowned while bathing in the Dhava River on Haritalika Teej in the Rafiganj area of Aurangabad, Bihar. She was rescued unconscious after about half an hour of search.

Aurangabad district's Rafiganj police‑station area witnessed a tragic drowning on Haritalika Teej, a popular Hindu festival. A married woman entered the Dhava River near May Khurd village for a ritual bath and was pulled under the current.

Local residents and police launched a rescue operation immediately. After roughly thirty minutes of searching, rescuers pulled the woman out of the water. She was found unconscious and was taken to a nearby medical facility for emergency treatment.

Preliminary reports indicate that the river's flow was unusually swift, contributing to the accident. Authorities have advised the public to exercise caution while bathing in rivers during festivals, especially in areas with strong currents.

The incident underscores the need for better safety measures at popular bathing spots during religious gatherings. No further casualties were reported, and the investigation into the exact cause of the drowning is ongoing.
