During the first gathering of the new AAP Political Action Committee, senior leader Manish Sisodia publicly challenged the central government over recent UPI regulations.

The Aam Aadmi Party convened the inaugural session of its newly created Political Action Committee (PAC) this week, bringing together senior party functionaries and strategists to chart its policy agenda.
Manish Sisodia, a key figure in the party and former deputy chief minister of Delhi, used the platform to launch a pointed attack on the Union government’s latest UPI rules, arguing that the changes could hamper small merchants and undermine the ease of digital transactions.
Sisodia contended that the new guidelines, which tighten verification norms and impose higher transaction fees, run counter to the party’s commitment to inclusive financial services. He urged the Centre to reconsider the measures, warning that they may erode public confidence in the country’s flagship payment system.
Party members present echoed the concern, noting that any restriction on UPI could have broader political repercussions ahead of upcoming elections. The PAC meeting concluded with a decision to monitor the implementation of the rules closely and to raise the issue in parliamentary debates.
