The Manipur government has lifted travel restrictions, reopening highways for free movement and restarting bus services between Imphal and Dimapur.
The state government announced that all highways in Manipur are now open for unrestricted travel, ending the earlier restrictions that had halted movement across the state. In a move aimed at restoring normalcy, bus services on the Imphal–Dimapur route have been resumed, allowing commuters and traders to cross the border without delay. Officials said the decision follows a review of security and logistical concerns that had previously led to the suspension of these routes.
Travelers are expected to benefit from the reopening, as the Imphal–Dimapur corridor is a key link between Manipur and neighboring Nagaland. The government has also assured that necessary safety measures will be maintained while allowing free movement.
The resumption of bus services is part of a broader effort to ease transportation restrictions that had been in place for several months, which had impacted local economies and daily life in the region.
