Security forces in Manipur carried out a counter‑insurgency operation that led to the arrest of four cadres suspected of involvement in militant activities. The operation was conducted in a remote area of the state, where the cadres were apprehended by armed personnel.
During the raid, the forces recovered an AK‑56 rifle, a weapon commonly used by insurgent groups in the region. The rifle was seized and secured for forensic analysis.
In addition to the weapon, the security teams seized a number of suspected WY tablets, which authorities believe could be linked to the distribution of illicit materials or communication tools used by the cadres.
The Manipur Police Commissioner stated that the operation is part of a broader effort to curb insurgent influence and restore law and order in the state. The arrested individuals are currently in custody and are expected to face charges under the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act and other relevant statutes.
