Manipur CM proposes rural sports complexes to ease Imphal congestion

Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh has unveiled a proposal to construct sports complexes across the state's rural districts. The initiative is intended to provide modern recreational facilities outside the capital and to divert some of the traffic that currently clogs Imphal's streets.
The CM said that developing sports infrastructure in villages will encourage youth participation in athletics and create alternative venues for events that presently take place in the city. By spreading such activities, the government hopes to lessen the pressure on Imphal's limited urban space.
