The Madhya Pradesh government has appointed Malay Jain as the new Superintendent of Police for Balaghat, while assigning additional responsibilities to four other IPS officers.

Madhya Pradesh’s Home Department issued an order on Tuesday appointing IPS officer Malay Jain as the Superintendent of Police for Balaghat district. The posting places Jain in charge of law‑enforcement operations across the district, succeeding the previous SP.

In the same order, four senior IPS officers – Sachin Kumar Atulkar, Pradeep Sharma, Wahini Singh and Nagendra Singh – were given additional charge of specific responsibilities, though the exact portfolios were not disclosed.

Such reshuffles are a routine part of the state’s administrative management, aimed at strengthening policing effectiveness and ensuring continuity in public safety initiatives across the region.
