On its opening day, Makarba Bridge in Ahmedabad faced congestion at both ends. A BJP MLA has written to the Chief Minister requesting deployment of traffic police and blamed the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation for the mishap.
Makarba Bridge in Ahmedabad opened to the public on a sunny Saturday, but traffic snarls erupted on both sides of the structure. Commuters reported long queues and delayed crossings as vehicles struggled to navigate the new route.
In response to the congestion, a BJP Member of Legislative Assembly penned a letter to the Chief Minister, requesting the deployment of traffic police to manage the flow. The MLA also pointed fingers at the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, alleging that inadequate planning contributed to the chaos.
The bridge, intended to ease traffic between the western suburbs and the city core, has now become a focal point for discussions on municipal coordination and traffic management.
