Majestic Mahakaleshwar Aarti in Ujjain Features Silver Crown and Floral Decoration

The Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain observed the Bhavsm Aarti on the auspicious day of Bhadrapad Shukla Paksha Dwadasi, a ritual that draws thousands of devotees each year. The ceremony began with a Panchamrit abhishek, wherein the deity was bathed in a mixture of milk, curd, honey, ghee and sugar, symbolising purity and devotion. Following the abhishek, priests performed the traditional Bhavsm Aarti, lighting incense and chanting hymns to honor Lord Mahakaleshwar. The highlight of the event was the elaborate mukharavind shringar: the deity’s face was adorned with a gleaming silver crown and a garland of fresh flowers, complemented by a silver mund mala draped around the neck. The atmosphere was charged with reverence as worshippers offered prayers, sang bhajans, and partook in the communal spirit of the festival.
