The Maharashtra government has directed all state universities to tighten accountability and develop SOPs to curb exam paper leaks.

The Maharashtra state government has issued directives to all state‑run universities to tighten accountability and curb the persistent problem of exam paper leaks.\n\nHigher Education Minister Radhakrishnan R. said the new guidelines require institutions to develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the handling, storage and distribution of examination materials.\n\nUniversities are also mandated to conduct internal audits, appoint security officers and implement digital monitoring to prevent unauthorized access to paper copies.\n\nThe move follows a series of high‑profile leaks that have raised concerns over the integrity of the state’s examination system.
