The state government announced a skill development initiative to train 4,300 young people for roles at the Nashik Kumbh Mela 2027.
India's Maharashtra government has launched the Kumbh Skilling Project to equip 4,300 young people with the skills needed for the upcoming Nashik Kumbh Mela 2027.
The initiative will train participants in areas such as crowd management, hospitality, first aid and security protocols.
Training will take place at state‑run skill development centres across Maharashtra, with a focus on ensuring a safe and efficient experience for millions of pilgrims.
Officials say the programme will also create employment opportunities for the trainees after the event.
The project is part of the state’s broader effort to boost skill development and tourism infrastructure ahead of the world‑famous Kumbh Mela.
