The Maharashtra government has announced plans to repair potholes and improve traffic flow on the Chakan belt in Pune, aiming to prevent a potential exodus of manufacturing units.

The state government has unveiled a comprehensive road rehabilitation scheme for the Chakan belt, a key industrial corridor in Pune.
The initiative comes after repeated complaints from factories about potholes and traffic snarls that have disrupted supply chains and increased operational costs.
The plan includes resurfacing major roads, installing proper drainage, and widening lanes to accommodate heavy vehicles.
Officials say the project will be completed within 18 months and is expected to retain existing manufacturing units and attract new investments.
