Maharashtra govt orders fast‑track of Maratha reservation issues, says Minister Vikhe Patil

Minister Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil told reporters that the Maharashtra government has issued a directive to all its departments to accelerate the resolution of pending issues concerning the Maratha reservation. The order aims to ensure that benefits promised under the reservation scheme are delivered without further delay.

The minister highlighted that the directive aligns with recent court rulings and the government's commitment to uphold the reservation policy for the Maratha community. He urged department heads to prioritize related applications, grievances and administrative formalities.

State officials have been asked to submit periodic updates on the progress of the fast‑track measures, which will be reviewed by the chief minister's office. The move comes as the reservation remains a focal point of political and legal discussions in the state.

The government reiterated that it will continue to monitor implementation closely to avoid bottlenecks and to address any procedural hurdles that may arise.
