The Maharashtra state Food and Drug Administration has cautioned Bollywood stars Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn and Tiger Shroff for appearing in a pan‑masala commercial that may violate advertising rules.

Maharashtra’s Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has formally warned three leading Bollywood actors after they featured in a televised pan‑masala advertisement. The regulator says the ad potentially breaches state laws that restrict the promotion of smokeless tobacco products, which are required to carry clear health warnings.

The celebrities named – Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn and Tiger Shroff – were shown endorsing the product without the mandated cautionary messages. The FDA’s notice indicates that continued non‑compliance could lead to legal action, including fines or a ban on the advertisement.

This is not the first instance of Indian authorities challenging celebrity endorsements of tobacco‑related items. Earlier cases have seen similar warnings, prompting advertisers to revise content to meet health‑risk disclosure norms. The FDA has asked the ad agency to withdraw the spot pending a review, while the actors’ representatives have yet to comment publicly.
