The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration has stepped up inspections and enforcement against adulterated sweets and edible oil as the festive season approaches. The move aims to safeguard public health during Navratri and Diwali.
Maharashtra FDA has intensified its crackdown on adulterated sweets and edible oil ahead of the upcoming Navratri and Diwali festivals. The agency has directed its officers to increase surveillance, conduct random sampling and seize substandard products found in the market.
Officials said the heightened vigilance is intended to prevent the circulation of unsafe food items during the festive period when demand for sweets and edible oil rises sharply.
The FDA has warned that strict legal action will be taken against traders and manufacturers found violating food safety norms, urging compliance to protect consumer welfare.
