The Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee alleges that a group of tribal students traveling to Mumbai for a protest were detained by authorities.
The Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee has publicly claimed that a contingent of tribal students en route to Mumbai for a planned protest was taken into custody by law‑enforcement agencies. The statement, released to the media, says the students were intercepted while traveling to the city and were not allowed to join the demonstration.
According to the party, the students were part of a broader movement seeking to highlight tribal issues, and their intended participation in the Mumbai protest was meant to draw wider attention. No specific details about the location of the detention or the number of students involved were provided.
State officials have not yet responded to the Congress allegation, and the police have not issued a comment on the incident. The situation remains under observation as both parties await further clarification.
