Chief Minister Eknath Shinde expressed regret over the inconvenience caused to residents as the state readies for the upcoming Kumbh Mela in Nasik.
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said today that the government regrets any hardship faced by locals as Maharashtra gears up for the forthcoming Kumbh Mela in Nasik. He acknowledged complaints about traffic snarls and restricted access in areas surrounding the pilgrimage sites.
The administration has undertaken extensive infrastructure work, including temporary road diversions and crowd‑control measures, to accommodate the expected influx of pilgrims. While these steps are essential for safety, they have disrupted daily routines for many residents.
Shinde assured that authorities will continue to monitor the situation closely and take corrective actions to minimise inconvenience, emphasizing that the spiritual significance of the Kumbh Mela must be balanced with the well‑being of the city's inhabitants.
The state government has also promised to improve communication with the public, providing timely updates on road closures and alternative routes as the festival approaches.
Officials said that despite the challenges, the preparations are on schedule and aim to ensure a smooth and secure experience for both pilgrims and local citizens.
