Veteran Maharashtra opener Ankit Bawne, who has been playing domestic cricket for 19 years, says he still believes a national team selection is possible.

Ankit Bawne, a long‑time opening batsman for Maharashtra, marked his 19th year in domestic cricket this season. Since his debut in the Ranji Trophy nearly two decades ago, he has been a regular feature in the state's batting line‑up.

Despite the passage of time, Bawne remains focused on improving his game and contributing to Maharashtra's campaigns in the Ranji and other domestic tournaments. His experience and consistency have made him a senior figure in the squad, often guiding younger players.

In a recent interview, Bawne reiterated his conviction that a call‑up to the Indian national side is still within reach. He emphasized that continued performance and perseverance are key, and he intends to keep working hard to earn the selectors' attention.
