The Madhya Pradesh Water Corporation has been renamed as the Madhya Pradesh Water and Sanitation Corporation following a board meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav.

The Madhya Pradesh Water Corporation (MPWC) will officially become the Madhya Pradesh Water and Sanitation Corporation (MPWSC) after a board meeting held in Bhopal on Thursday. The change was approved under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, who highlighted the need to reflect the corporation’s expanded mandate to include sanitation services.

The renaming follows a broader strategy to integrate water supply and sanitation under a single public entity, aiming to streamline operations and improve service delivery across the state. The board also approved an increase in the tender approval limit for the corporation’s projects, raising it from ₹5 crore to ₹25 crore to facilitate larger infrastructure initiatives.

MPWC officials said the new name will be reflected in all official documents, signage, and digital platforms by the end of the fiscal year. The change is expected to enhance coordination with other state agencies and attract more investment in water and sanitation projects.
