Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced that the state will buy wheat from farmers at a support price of Rs 2,700 per quintal and extended zero‑interest loan repayment until July.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced on Monday that the state government will procure wheat from farmers at a fixed support price of Rs 2,700 per quintal. The decision aims to provide immediate income security to cultivators ahead of the upcoming procurement season.

The announcement also included an extension of the zero‑interest agricultural loan repayment window, allowing borrowers to clear their crop‑linked loans without interest until the end of July. This measure is intended to ease cash‑flow pressures on farmers who have taken credit for seeds, fertilizers and other inputs.

State officials said the procurement price aligns with the central government's Minimum Support Price (MSP) for the current marketing year and will be implemented through the existing network of procurement centers across Madhya Pradesh. Farmers are expected to benefit from both the assured price and the relaxed loan repayment terms.

The government will monitor market response and may adjust procurement logistics to ensure smooth operations during the peak harvest period.
