On Police Memorial Day, the Madhya Pradesh government announced a one‑crore rupee compensation, compassionate appointment and other benefits for the families of nine officers who died while on duty.

The Madhya Pradesh administration announced on Police Memorial Day that each of the families of nine police personnel who lost their lives while on duty will receive a financial assistance of one crore rupees. The decision was disclosed during a ceremony held in Bhopal, where officials highlighted the state’s commitment to supporting the bereaved families.

In addition to the cash assistance, the government will provide a compassionate appointment to a family member in the police force, along with other welfare benefits such as pension enhancements and medical facilities. These measures are intended to alleviate the immediate financial strain and ensure long‑term security for the dependents.

State officials emphasized that the move reflects the administration’s resolve to honor the sacrifice of its law‑enforcement officers. They noted that similar provisions have been part of the state’s broader policy framework for families of martyrs.

Family representatives expressed gratitude for the timely support, saying the assistance will help them manage daily expenses and future obligations. The announcement aligns with ongoing efforts across India to provide comprehensive relief to the kin of security personnel killed in the line of duty.
