The Madhya Pradesh government has excluded 65 hospitals from the Ayushman Bharat scheme for not adhering to its guidelines, with 20 of those hospitals situated in Indore.

The state health department announced that 65 hospitals across Madhya Pradesh have been removed from the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) after failing to meet the scheme’s compliance requirements. The directive applies to both private and public facilities that were found to be violating the stipulated norms for patient eligibility, billing, and reporting.

Among the affected institutions, 20 are located in Indore, the state’s commercial hub. These hospitals will no longer be able to claim reimbursements under the central government’s flagship health insurance programme until they rectify the identified deficiencies and obtain renewed certification.

The government has urged the non‑compliant hospitals to address the gaps promptly, stating that the move aims to protect beneficiaries and ensure the integrity of the Ayushman scheme. Officials said periodic audits will continue to monitor adherence across all participating providers.

Patients currently undergoing treatment at the excluded hospitals have been advised to seek care at other Ayushman‑approved facilities to avoid disruption of services.
