Madhya Pradesh Rajya Sabha By‑Election: No Nominations Filed on First Day, Voting Set for Nov 12

On 1 November, the Election Commission opened the nomination window for a vacant Rajya Sabha seat in Madhya Pradesh. The first day saw no candidates file nominations, leaving the seat unfilled and prompting the Commission to extend the deadline. Candidates have until 2 November to submit their nomination papers, after which the Commission will verify eligibility and shortlist candidates. If the nomination process yields a single candidate, that person may be declared elected unopposed; otherwise, a vote will be held on 12 November to determine the winner.
