On Thursday, MLA Montu Solanki travelled to Nivali with a group of supporters intending to join the demonstrators. Police intercepted him at his constituency office and kept him under detention for roughly ninety minutes, effectively barring his entry to the protest site.
After releasing the legislator, police officers formed a cordon around the protest area, accompanied by about three hundred supporters who were reportedly aligned with the authorities.
