The state weather department has issued an extreme rain alert for Tikamgarh, Damoh, Narsinghpur, Betul and Rajgarh, while 20 other districts face a heavy rain warning on Tuesday.
Madhya Pradesh’s meteorological office warned that Tuesday will see intense rainfall across several parts of the state. An extreme rain alert has been declared for the districts of Tikamgarh, Damoh, Narsinghpur, Betul and Rajgarh, indicating the likelihood of sudden, severe downpours.
In addition to the five districts under the extreme alert, a heavy rain warning has been issued for twenty other districts, including the capital Bhopal. Authorities have cautioned residents to stay alert for possible flooding, waterlogging and disruption to transport services.
The department has advised people to avoid non‑essential travel, secure loose objects, and follow instructions from local officials. Emergency response teams are on standby to assist any areas that experience flash floods or other rain‑related hazards.
Residents are urged to monitor updates through official channels and the state’s disaster management helpline, as conditions could evolve rapidly during the day.
The alerts come as the monsoon season intensifies, and the state is preparing for a potentially active weather pattern that could affect agricultural activities and daily life across the region.
