The state weather department has warned of intense rainfall across 22 districts of Madhya Pradesh, with up to 8 inches forecast in Dindori and Balaghat for the next three days.

The Madhya Pradesh Meteorological Department has issued a heavy‑rain alert covering 22 districts as the monsoon remains active. Forecasts indicate that Dindori and Balaghat could receive as much as 8 inches (approximately 20 cm) of rain.
Authorities warn that the downpour may continue for the next three days, raising the risk of water‑logging, road disruptions and localized flooding. Residents in vulnerable areas have been advised to stay alert, avoid low‑lying zones and follow any safety instructions issued by local officials.
Despite the current intensity, the season’s total rainfall so far is about 3 inches below the long‑term average, suggesting a slower start to the monsoon. State disaster management teams are on standby to deploy relief measures if conditions worsen.
No major casualties or large‑scale damage have been reported at this stage, but emergency services remain prepared for rapid response.
