The Madhya Pradesh health department has ordered the immediate cancellation of attachments for 175 doctors, nurses and other staff working away from their original postings in Indore, stipulating that salaries will be paid only after they rejoin their designated posts.

The Madhya Pradesh health department issued an order on Tuesday that nullifies the temporary postings of 175 medical professionals – including doctors, nurses and support staff – who are currently serving at locations other than their original assignments in Indore. The cancellation takes effect immediately, and the staff will receive their salaries only after they report back to their designated posts.

The directive aims to address staffing imbalances across public hospitals by ensuring that personnel return to their primary facilities. Officials said that the move will provide much‑needed relief to hospitals that have been operating with reduced manpower due to prolonged attachments.

Hospital administrators in Indore welcomed the decision, noting that the return of these professionals is expected to improve patient care and reduce workload pressures on existing staff. The health department has asked all concerned institutions to comply with the order and facilitate the smooth transition of the affected employees.

The order was communicated through an official circular circulated to all district health offices and hospital management committees. No further details on the timeline for re‑deployment were provided, and the department indicated that it will monitor compliance closely.
