On November 4, officials, staff and pensioners in Madhya Pradesh will gather outside Satpura Bhawan, Bhopal, demanding release of 2% and 3% inflation allowances and pending teacher promotions.
A joint front of Madhya Pradesh government officers, employees and pensioners has announced a protest for November 4 outside Satpura Bhawan in Bhopal. The demonstrators will press the state administration to clear the pending two‑percent inflation allowance and the three‑percent arrears that have been overdue for months.
The group also seeks the immediate processing of promotion orders for teachers, a demand that has been raised repeatedly in recent months. Organisers say the delay has affected morale and financial stability of the staff.
Authorities have not yet responded publicly to the protest plan. The rally is expected to be peaceful, with participants urging the government to resolve the financial grievances before the scheduled demonstration.
If the demands are met, officials anticipate a reduction in discontent among the state’s civil service cadre and a smoother functioning of the education department.
The protest reflects broader concerns across several Indian states about delayed inflation adjustments for government employees, a recurring issue in the post‑pandemic fiscal environment.
