The Economic Offences Wing of Madhya Pradesh has laid out a timed action plan to resolve about 3,900 pending cases, requiring each investigating officer to close two cases every month, with DG Upendra Jain overseeing weekly reviews.
The Economic Offences Wing (EO&W) of Madhya Pradesh announced a structured schedule to address the backlog of roughly 3,900 pending cases across the state. The plan mandates that each investigating officer complete a minimum of two case closures per month.
The schedule is intended to accelerate the resolution of economic offences ranging from fraud to money‑laundering, and to improve public confidence in the state's investigative machinery. Progress will be monitored through weekly reviews conducted by Director General Upendra Jain.
Officials said the target is realistic given current staffing levels and that the monthly quota will be tracked via an internal dashboard. The initiative also includes periodic training sessions to ensure officers are equipped with the latest investigative tools.
If successful, the backlog could be cleared within two years, a timeline that EO&W hopes will set a benchmark for other states.
