The Madhya Pradesh election authorities have announced that applicants adding names to the electoral roll will no longer have to submit a separate declaration form alongside Form‑6.
The State Election Commission of Madhya Pradesh issued a clarification regarding the procedure for updating the electoral roll. Earlier, individuals who wanted to add a name to the voter list were required to file Form‑6 together with a separate declaration statement.
Effective immediately, the commission has removed the requirement for the additional declaration, simplifying the process for applicants. The updated guideline states that a duly filled Form‑6 alone is sufficient to register a new name, provided all other eligibility criteria are met.
Election officials say the change aims to reduce bureaucratic hurdles and encourage more citizens to participate in the electoral process. Voters are advised to obtain the latest Form‑6 from designated offices or download it from the commission’s website before submitting their applications.
