Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced that Madhya Pradesh has effectively neutralized the Naxal threat that persisted for three and a half decades.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav told reporters that Madhya Pradesh has finally overcome the Naxal insurgency that plagued the state for 35 years. The declaration marks a significant milestone in the government's long‑term security strategy.
He pointed to a steady decline in reported Naxal incidents over the past few years, noting that the number of active cadres and attacks has dropped to historically low levels, according to data from the state police and central security agencies.
Yadav credited the success to coordinated operations involving the Madhya Pradesh Police, the Central Reserve Police Force, and the Indian Army, combined with focused development programmes in former conflict zones such as Bastar, Dindori and Jhabua.
The chief minister urged continued vigilance and promised to accelerate infrastructure, education and livelihood projects to address the underlying socio‑economic grievances that once fueled the insurgency.
The statement comes as the state prepares to review its security posture ahead of the upcoming national internal security summit.
