Chief Minister Mohan Yadav arrived in Omkareshwar to review and accelerate the groundwork for the upcoming Simhastha religious fair scheduled for 2028.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav reached the holy town of Omkareshwar on Thursday, marking a high‑level push to fast‑track infrastructure and logistical arrangements for the Simhastha scheduled in 2028. The visit underscores the state government's commitment to ensure that the pilgrimage event, expected to draw millions of devotees, meets safety, sanitation and transport standards.

During his short stay, the CM inspected ongoing projects such as road widening, temporary accommodation facilities, and water‑treatment plants near the Narmada banks. Officials briefed him on progress reports, highlighting that key timelines have been revised to meet the accelerated schedule.

State authorities said the presence of the chief minister will help resolve pending clearances and mobilise additional resources. The Simhastha, a major Hindu congregation held once every twelve years, is seen as both a religious and economic catalyst for the region.

The government has also announced a coordinated effort with central agencies to manage crowd control, medical services and environmental safeguards, aiming for a smooth and secure gathering in 2028.
