The Bhimghad dam in Madhya Pradesh has opened its gates due to rising water levels from continuous rainfall. This has led to a significant amount of water being released into the Wainganga river.
The recent rainfall in the Chhapara area of Sivni, Madhya Pradesh, has caused the water level of the Bhimghad dam to rise. As a precautionary measure, gates number 5 and 6 of the dam have been opened by one meter each, resulting in the release of approximately 283 cubic meters of water per second into the Wainganga river. This has raised concerns of potential flooding in several districts. The situation is being closely monitored to ensure the safety of the surrounding areas.
