The Madhya Pradesh government has initiated the selection process for the next Director General of Police. The UPSC will shortlist three names from a pool of 12 senior IPS officers after the tenure of current DGP Kailash Makwana concludes.
The Madhya Pradesh government has officially begun the process of selecting the state's next Director General of Police (DGP). The move comes as the tenure of the current DGP, Kailash Makwana, nears its conclusion.
As part of the established procedure, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will prepare a panel of three names. These candidates will be shortlisted from a larger pool of 12 senior IPS officers who are eligible for the top police post.
The state government will ultimately appoint one of the three officers recommended by the UPSC panel as the new DGP of Madhya Pradesh. The selection is being closely watched given the critical role of the DGP in maintaining law and order across the state.
