Meteorologists have issued travel warnings for London residents due to an extreme El Niño event nicknamed 'Godzilla El Niño'. Authorities urge the public to monitor forecasts and adjust travel plans accordingly.
The term 'Godzilla El Niño' refers to an exceptionally strong El Niño phenomenon, characterized by unusually warm sea surface temperatures in the Pacific that can alter global weather patterns. Such conditions often lead to heightened storm activity and unpredictable climatic shifts across continents.
Weather agencies have highlighted the potential impact on travel, noting that flight schedules, rail services and road transport could face delays or cancellations. The warnings are intended to help travelers plan ahead and avoid unnecessary disruption.
Londoners are advised to check real-time updates from transport operators, allow extra time for journeys, and consider flexible booking options where possible. Staying informed through official weather channels is also recommended.
While the exact extent of the impact remains uncertain, experts say that being prepared can mitigate the risks associated with this powerful climatic event.
