The India Meteorological Department has warned that Goa will see light to moderate rainfall through August 24.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a weather advisory indicating that the coastal state of Goa will experience light to moderate rain over the next several days, extending up to August 24. The forecast covers most parts of the state, including popular tourist hubs such as Panaji, Calangute and Baga.

Meteorologists noted that the rain is expected to be intermittent, with no indication of severe thunderstorms or flooding at this stage. However, they advised residents and visitors to stay alert for sudden downpours, especially during the late afternoon and early evening periods.

Local authorities have been instructed to monitor road conditions and ensure drainage systems remain clear. Travelers are recommended to carry umbrellas or raincoats, avoid unnecessary travel on water‑logged routes, and follow any updates issued by the IMD or state disaster management agencies.
