LG Manoj Sinha told Daily Excelsior that the removal of Article 370 has ushered in a period of peace and development in Jammu and Kashmir.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, the Union Territory's chief administrator, addressed Daily Excelsior, stating that Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed marked improvements in security and economic activity since the central government revoked Article 370 in August 2019.
He pointed out that the removal of the region's special constitutional status has allowed the implementation of nationwide policies, attracted investment, and accelerated infrastructure projects, thereby creating a more stable environment.
Sinha added that law‑enforcement agencies have recorded a decline in militant incidents, while tourism and local businesses are showing signs of revival, underscoring the broader impact of the constitutional change.
The lieutenant governor called for continued cooperation between the Union and local stakeholders to sustain development momentum and preserve peace in the valley.
