Lieutenant Governor LG Sinha has launched the ‘Discover J&K, The Crown of India’ drive, inviting travellers to experience the region’s natural splendor and warm hospitality.
Lieutenant Governor LG Sinha announced a new tourism promotion titled “Discover J&K, The Crown of India” aimed at drawing domestic and international visitors to Jammu and Kashmir. The campaign highlights the state’s diverse landscapes, from the snow‑capped peaks of the Himalayas to the serene Dal Lake, and stresses the traditional hospitality of its people.
In his statement, Sinha emphasized that tourism is a key driver of economic growth for the region and urged travelers to explore lesser‑known destinations alongside the popular hill stations. He also mentioned ongoing infrastructure upgrades, including improved road connectivity and upgraded accommodation facilities, to ensure a safe and comfortable visit.
The lieutenant governor’s invitation comes as the state seeks to revive its tourism sector after pandemic‑related setbacks. Officials are coordinating with local businesses and community groups to provide authentic cultural experiences, such as Kashmiri cuisine, handicrafts, and seasonal festivals, under the new branding.
Authorities have set up a dedicated information portal and mobile app to assist tourists with itineraries, travel advisories, and booking services. The initiative aims to position Jammu and Kashmir as a premier destination that embodies both natural grandeur and the cultural richness of India.
