Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha marked the eight‑year period since the 2019 constitutional changes, citing progress in infrastructure, education and law‑and‑order in Jammu and Kashmir.

Srinagar, Oct 31 — Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha used a public address to commemorate eight years since the abrogation of Article 370 and the reorganisation of Jammu and Kashmir. He said the Union Territory has witnessed measurable gains in road connectivity, power supply and digital services, pointing to new highways, upgraded schools and expanded broadband coverage as evidence.

Sinha also highlighted a decline in militancy‑related incidents, noting that the security apparatus has enabled a more stable environment for civilians and investors. He credited the cooperation of local political leaders and community groups for fostering a climate of peace.

The LG urged the central and state administrations to sustain the momentum, emphasizing that continued investment in health, tourism and skill development will translate the achievements of the past eight years into long‑term prosperity for the region.

The remarks came ahead of a scheduled review meeting of the J&K Development Board, where officials are expected to present detailed performance data and outline future projects.
