The BCCI has announced that all‑rounder Kumar Kushagra will replace the injured wicket‑keeper Rishabh Pant in the India A squad.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed that Kumar Kushagra has been called up to the India A side, taking the place of the sidelined Rishabh Pant. Pant, who was ruled out due to injury, will miss the upcoming fixtures for the second‑tier national team.
Kushagra, a right‑hand batsman who also bowls off‑spin, has impressed with his recent performances in domestic cricket, earning the selectors’ attention for the higher level. His inclusion provides the squad with a versatile option both in the batting order and as a part‑time bowler.
The India A team is set to play a series of matches in the coming weeks as part of its development program. Kushagra’s debut in this squad will be closely watched by fans and pundits eager to see how he adapts to the step up in competition.
The BCCI’s decision underscores its focus on maintaining a balanced side despite injury setbacks, ensuring that the India A camp remains competitive ahead of senior team selections.
